Interviews

Well it has been a rather busy week for me.  I have had quite a few interviews and have scheduled 2nd round interviews next week.  Hopefully something will good will come out of next week.  Hope everyone has a good holiday weekend.

Keeping Hope Alive

Still no luck with the job search and it will be three weeks this thursday since I was laid off.  Still trying to keep positive and keep hope alive.

Job Sites Seem Useless

Why is it that when someone who is looking for a job goes to a job site like careerbuilder.com or jobing.com to search and finds nothing but scam jobs.  For example, The Marketing Group, Inc., or I’m Swamped.  I, like many others who are truly looking for a REAL JOB, run across these types of ads daily.  I mean come on Career Builder, Jobing just to name the obvious ones, pay your screener more $$$$$$$.  This stuff just makes it harder for people to use and trust your sites.

Let’s face it the economy is in the tank and it maybe a while before there are some real legitimate career related jobs to come about, but seriously there has to be better place to look for or apply for jobs.

I know many of you will probably say just go directly to the company site(s) and apply directly.  Well, I have and I know that I am not the only one, but what are the chances that someone other than an auto generated response ever gets sent back to you.

Seriously, what has the world come to.  My question is…Is there any decent sites out there that people like myself can use to look for and apply for jobs without the idiots who falsely advertise the BS job?

Just thought I would vent…it is Monday after all.  I am sure I will be much more positive in my next post.

Saturday…

Well, I think I had a productive Friday.  Met with a couple of folks, don’t know how productive it was but it was semi-productive.  I thought I would hear back from Canyon Communications by now, but no luck.  Have to stay positive during this economic downturn.  I just hope either my wife or myself land a job soon…like I said…hope.

We had a garage sale this morning and it went ok, but it was HOT!!!.  We are going to try to do it again next Saturday.

Looking for Work….

Well, I have had a couple of interview and will be following up on them a little bit later this week.  I hope something comes out of them.  It just seems so difficult these days to find work.  I don’t even believe that local business’ will hire me because of my resume or the fact as soon as a career oriented position opens up somewhere else I would jump on the chance.  I am starting to worry.  I am just hoping my wife or myself will find something soon.  I will be posting again soon, and hopefully with better news.  Take care all.

Phone Interview

Had my first phone interview today.  I think it went okay, but you never know.  I know from past experiences that you should never get your hope up about anything especially job interviews.  The let down can be pretty bad.

This Week…

So this week I began my job search and so far it hasn’t gone to bad.  I’ve gotten a phone interview set up for tomorrow with a design firm, Friday I have an in person one out in Mesa.  Kinda far, but I like the company and maybe it will turn into something.  I will post the details as they come about.  Until then everyone.

Job Hunting

Looking for a job or new career during this recession is insane. Seriously, where have all the good jobs gone. I just can’t believe there is nothing out there. I hope Obama can turn this thing around, because I am starting to think there is no light at the end of this tunnel.

Research….

Until recently, I have been working for the same company for a little over a year. I loved what I did and worked with some great people, but know I that I am looking for work, I am finding that the economy has made it about 50 time (if not more) harder to find work. It doesn’t even matter what your career path is. There just doesn’t seem to be a lot of good leads out there.  I have to admit though, social media has been a good way to start to look though.  It is nice to find the friends you haven’t seen in a long time and have them reach out a helping hand.  However, I have begun to research some companies that might be interested in my services, but who know.  I just know that I need to find something soon like everyone else.

Pens Move Ahead!

Being a Pittsburgh Penguins fan, I just wanted to mention that they gave a beating to the Flyers in 6 games to move on to the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.  Go PENS!!!
